Anybody Using Bitcoin Faucets?

Is anybody using Bitcoin and other faucets to earn free coins? Recently, one of my friend introduced me to faucets and told me how one can earn free coins by just clicking on few pages. I have tried it for few days and maximum I can get is $0.01 cent and I dnt think its much beneficial . If you have any experience with faucets, let me know if its worth the time or not. • thanks all for your responses.

  • FWIW I tried a 'faucet' (http://moonbit.co.in/) as an experiment and after a full day I now have 525 satoshi. One Satoshi is 0.00000001 so 0.00000525 of a bitcoin. So currently that's around $0.07. If the earnings stayed at around that, then you could get the equivalent of $25 or so after a full year. Or maybe a couple of dollars every month. I think some people get a lot more through referrals etc, but I'll ignore that for now.

Now according to coinpot (the place the coins go), "Minimum withdrawal amount is 0.0001 btc, and there is a 0.00001 btc (1,000 satoshi) fee for withdrawals of less than 0.0005 btc (50,000 satoshi)."

So before you would withdraw anything, you would want to have over 50,000 satoshi/0.0005 bitcoin (currently about $6.31) which, by my reckoning would take at least 3 months/100 days to collect. That assumes the value of btc remains the same. Why do I say that?

Claims are that it is possible btc could go over the $1M mark from the current $10k(ish) mark… if this is the case, then multiply everything by 100 ie you could be collecting $2,500 per year. But. Betcha the rate of collecting btc will change with these faucets to take any change in btc value into account. And it's always possible btc could crash. Badly.

So is it worth it? Meh. You'd probably get more money faster and with less effort by hunting around the couch for physical coins.
