Nintendo Switch carry case and screen protector

Can anyone recommend a good Nintendo Switch carry case and screen protector?
Budget is $20-30 depending on how good it is, but can go higher if its really worth it.

I want something to protect the screen from the dock / general use everyday, and a case to carry the switch for when I take it out that could hold a few games and other things as well.

Cheers!

  • I have a spare one. 100% new and include a glass protector. $29 if you like.

    This is what I use

    $25
    Great quality
Fits console, 2 joy cons, 2 straps, 8 games

I don’t use screen protector cause air bubbles

    • This. I use it too after trying another one (the thinner $25 one) and returning it since it couldn't fit the straps without it bulging out.

I'm using a tempered glass protector from Big W which was like $14. Works well for me.

Don’t know why my comment got unpublished since it was literally just two Ebay links of items I bought, not referral links. Whatever.

Just go for the cheapest glass protector you can get, and a hard shell case of eBay. Can’t go wrong.

    • Can you post just the item IDs (maybe not as links)?

      • Sure…

        Here's the case: 182521936392
        And the protector: 192139601830

      • I purchased an Ozrly one (item ID 201879759967). Fantastic screen protector. Haven't got a case yet.

  • I got a Nuglas tempered glass screen protector off ebay for about $5 or 6 delivered. It was really easy to put on, and is so much nicer than the default screen because it barely picks up fingerprints at all.

I have heard it's best to wait 24 hours to play after applying, to let the adhesive stick. I've seen a couple online warped and delaminate, supposedly from the heat the system generates.

Don't use a case so good luck on that!

  • I bought the official case + screen protector on release day. Still $29.95 at EB Games (Sure you can find it cheaper elsewhere) https://ebgames.com.au/nintendo-switch-225680-Nintendo-Switc…

Case is sturdy enough and fits the console with the 2 joy-cons attached. I've seen other cases which are smaller, but the controllers have to be taken off each time to put it away, which makes things fiddly when wanting to use it on the run. Holds 5 games, and also holds 2 joy-con straps and a 1.2m USB Type-C cable (cable does make the case a bit bulgy on that side.

I also highly recommend the screen protector (any, but the one provided in this link is what I am using). Either I have one of the dodgy docks, or it's a common problem, but I have a whole bunch of scratches on the left and right side of the screen (luckily only in the black non-usable section of the screen). If I didn't have the cover on it, I would be pretty annoyed having the screen scratched due to the dock.

  • Thanks for all the recommendations, will go through them and decide on one!
Appreciate all the help, and heard about the screen problems so definitely getting the screen protector :)

    • find rds switxh case in big w, goes for $25. screen protector, buy a tempered glass one. nu glas on ebay is a good brand $10

  • Slightly off topic but I took off the straps off my joycon straps. I only play tabletop mode so no chance of swinging them into my TV screen.

It saves very little space but it feels a lot more efficient.
