Can not be ordered online. Maybe more luck picking it up. They just changed it to out of stock.

Error:Sorry, an error has occurred while trying to retrieve the inventory status of this product.

Try refresh the page and clear cache, still working fine on my end

    • +1

I've just tested it adding to the cart and it works fine for me.

    • This usually means that there's no more stock for whatever method you chose

  • +2

Yeah its all fun and games till you hit that "next" button to the payment section.

  • +1

    Too attempting!!

Don't forget cashrewards and AMEX deal!

Thanks OPs. Hope they won't cancel my order either.

    • +1

I also ordered through C&C :) fingers crossed they won't!

Cash rewards is 7% @ david jones ? i thought it was only 4.5%.. bought one even though I don't need one…

  • +1

    Can we split the payment?

    • +1

Afterpay is available (fortnightly payments) if that's what you meant?

      • +1

I mean like take Amex card offer advantages, spit the payment by using 2 different card

        • No split payment using two credit cards on DJs Online. In store yes.

        • @kerfuffle: Any idea if I can use 2 giftcards and a cc to pay for an item?or is it just 1 of each?

        • +1

@911r: You can use up to a maximum of five gift cards online. e.g. if your item was $250 and you had two $100 gift cards, you can use your two $100 gift cards to pay and the remaining $50 with your credit card.

        • +1

@kerfuffle: wow that's great! thanks so much :)

  • +1

Don't need but still bought one at this price. ($371 after cashrewards is damm cheap for this model)

  • +1

Temptation got the better of me, I just bought one. I was forced to 'Click & Collect' though as the Error message ("Sorry, an error has occurred while trying to retrieve the inventory status of this product.") kept popping up with any type of delivery method I was selecting.

    • +1

close browser and reopen. Maybe stock is already finished at your c&c store

Broden will offload a lot of early Christmas Dysons.

  • +1

Mine is showing an error even after refreshing page :(

  • +1

    And I bought a Miele C3 yesterday for $420 =(

    • Miele is much much better (and healthier due to extremely good air filters) than Dyson and lasts longer if it is one made in Germany.

      • yes it is….ok thanks =)

  • +1

    seems already out of stock

  • +1

Looks like they made a mistake, and are trying to limit the damage.

  • +1

Able to add to cart at the moment.

    • +1

You can add to cart, but can't finish the sale =(

      • Ah ok. Deal marked as expired.

  • +1

Looks like similar to many years ago when 20% off got applied on item and then again in checkout. Don't think it was that cheap though. Good buy for anyone they got it. DJs are good for honoring purchases usually.

    • Damn! Well I hope they honour their prices…

      • Will wait for the OZB to report back. I bet there's a queue for OZB at DJs now, if not finished.

  • +1

Southland VIC refused to give me my c&c order. They were informed about the price error already.

    • They can just refuse? With a receipt and all? I thought with pricing errors, companies usually have to just suck it up. I'll be heading to get my C&C this afternoon after work, will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Edit: I just received a second email informing me that my order is ready to collect in store. I'm assuming the cancellation may be at the discretion of the stores processing the order/s.

      • Let us know if they actually give it to you/honour it

        • Funnily enough I just received a follow up call from the store saying they had to cancel it at the request of head office and that the second email should never have come through, she was being very apologetic and respectful about everything. It saved me a trip going there after work.

  • I ordered it and got confirmation for delivery. Lets see how it ends up.

  • boo!

  • i bought an am09 yesterday for $399

  • No luck QLD, C&C

    EDIT:Typo

Just got a call from David Jones and they will not honor the price even I have paid for it. Very disappointed with the outcome.

    • -4

If they have taken your money (even if they refunded it now) you can insist on the contract being performed. At the point of taking your money a contract came into existence. The longer it took them to inform you about the price error, the better your chances, especially the closer it was to Black Friday as a price like this could be pre-Black Friday deal.

I have insisted on specific performance many times in situations like this and 100% of the time the companies delivered.
At this price it might even be worthwile initiating a claim with your state's Civil and Administrative Tribunal which is really cheap and has no costs risk for you.

      • +2

WOW! life is too short man, even if you did get your shiny new vac in a week you would have forgotten about it and move on to the next thing.

  • Just got a call from my local DJ store and saying they had to cancel my order due to price error! She also asked me to go the store to get my money back! (what!)Boooo to DJ!

    • Did you pay with a credit card? I would have thought that they could refund the money back online.

      • I paid with a gift card. I am not going to the store to get my credit. The lady said she will call me back later.

      • Unfortunately not, due to privacy and security reasons. If it's a Click and Collect, you'll have to call the store that you placed your order at to do a refund. If you paid by Credit Card, they can DEFINITELY refund you over the phone without you needing to visit the store.

Gift cards you could try and ask them to post it out to you via Registered Post.

  • +1

bought it and got a call from DJ saying they dont have stock anymore and return money back…it could be a mistake they made on the website and they just tell you no stock instead of mistake they made. Bad!!! but I thought so. That's why how come it's even cheaper than the basic Cinetic which is also $399!!

    • If they tell you no stock, then you can definitely insist on specific performance provided money was taken of your credit card (or money in any other way transacted).

  • +4

Is there any way we can make them honour the price? I received a confirmation email and everything. Just don't think that it's fair to just send an email saying it can't be processed and inconvenience a customer by making them go in to get a refund and be out of pocket until it shows on my card and it's a Friday!

    • If you only received a confirmation: no.

If they took your money (even if refunded now): yes

  • why would they still have it advertised for that price if it's no longer available? I was just able to purchase one online… hope they honour it.

    • Good luck. I just got a cancelled email saying out of stock. Now I gotta call them for a refund but their number is always busy

    • when I click it now, it's showing the page "access denied". I think they found out it's a mistake so they block it. But it's fair enough. Why they still sell the lower model at $399 when you have the higher model at the same price!!!

    • The guy at the Head Office said it takes 24 hours for changes on the website to occur so its in the process of being taken down. So far, no honouring of the price >:(

  • -1

They're not letting me collect it from my nominated store which is bullshit. I have the receipt from Paypal + a confirmation email = shouldn't that serve as proof that one of those vacuum's are my property and the sale has already been processed? So angry right now >:(

It's a pricing error as per the first paragraph on that link.

      • -4

Yep, I know it was a pricing error but they accepted my money for it + confirmed meaning the "invitation to treat" morphed into a completed contract. Legally all the payment/receipt etc has already been done, they just are refusing to give me my property.

@kerfuffle: thanks kerfuffle. For DJ, such a shame…they making huge commitments to attract buyers but they not willing to take any responsibility. Sorry foe inconvenience sounds too easy everytime theres a pricing error!!!

        • @kerfuffle: How could your customer know it is a pricing error or just a big sale on Black Friday? This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Be a company that can take responsibility for your own mistake. This is not a large corporate firm should do.

        • @badbed: I'm just an employee for DJs, not someone from head office and also not qualified to speak on behalf of the company. All the comments I make is in my own time.

If you want to pass on your feedback regarding this pricing error, please feel free to e-mail [email protected]. We welcome all feedback.

        • @kerfuffle: I did call your LOVELY customer service, and got hang up! BEST customer service on the earth!

    • +1

      Why you so angry?
      Disappointed I'd be too

It seems people just get so angry these days or is it a figure of speech

  • +2

Man how archaic is David Jones refund system? Need to manually recite your credit card number over phone to process the refund. Can't wait for Amazon to make David Jones even more irrelevant

  • +1

Called them and they couldn't process a refund for afterpay. Why use the service if you don't know how it works???

Had to email afterpay support :/

    • To be fair, we only just started Afterpay two days ago. I do agree however that they should have been briefed on how to process Afterpay purchases that are refunded.

  • +7

Was a great experience walking in to pickup my order at 4pm (order was placed well before 8:15 this morning and confirmed ready before 8:30) only to be all but accused of being a scam artist in front of a small crowd of people near the service desk.

They had my email & phone details as well as more than 7 hours after detecting the pricing issue and should have contacted me well beforehand but did not. This left me in a situation where upon arriving that I was told that they would not be providing the appliance while making not entirely subtle accusations of attempting to defraud the store due the pricing mistake.

An impressive argument ensued after being offered in store credit instead of a refund (apparently due to DJ's policy on PayPal transactions) and had to end up calling online customer service - after being escalated was eventually offered a full refund via PayPal.

All up I would expect far better from a company that seemingly prides itself on customer service, not honouring the purchase is fine but the attitude, baseless accusations and reluctance to fix the issue before it impacted customers really made it hurt. DJ's handling of this is embarrassing and heads should be rolling in several areas over not just a publishing mistake that should have been checked several times before going live but in not contacting the customers involved as soon as possible after the issue was detected.

    • They could use a lesson or two from from Appliances Online re handling of pricing screwups.

  • +1

OzBbargainers, we should be together and enforce David Jones to honour our purchases. It is not the way that a company like David Jones should do to treat their loyal customers like us. Today is Black Friday, so putting up a big sale is reasonable. They should not just cancel our orders as they don't want to take any responsibility!!! If everyone is running business like DJ, what is the point to have sale?!

  • +19

Price matched at JB hi-fi for 399! Before they rectified the issue. Deal of the century thank you so much.

    • +1

      wow congrats!! Great thinking

      • +1

Haha thanks but it was more luck I didn't think it was a glitch and my wife had to go to JB to get something else.

        • At least there was one happy ending among all this suffering. Well done.

    • Can u post your receipt?

    • well done!

    • +8

Got JB to price match also as DJ's was to far to travel to :-) Paid $410, they included a $10 shipping charge as closest DJ's didn't show stock, but I got a $20 voucher printout that I used for GT sport & controller deal ;-)

  • +3

    Got my cancellation email :(
However for those who missed out on this deal and still want the Animal Pro vacuum, you can get it for $560 click and collect at Bing Lee Ebay with the 20% off code!

  • Stupid DJ, still waiting for my refunds!!!!

  • Same here, they are holding our money, which shouldn't be deducted in 1st place. :(

  • +1

I will complaints to Fair Trading tonight if I still heard nothing from DJ today!

  • Last week on Friday I got an email from online David Jones saying that they will contact me for the refund. Still no call or further email. Meanwhile Amex gave me my $30 credit. I guess Amex will take that back once the refund has been processed?

    • +1

Not necessarily. The refund will come from David Jones [store you tried to Click and Collect at] so your $30 credit will remain with you as that was triggered by David Jones Online.

      • +1

Received an email about the refund going back to the card. Money received by David Jones Sydney (not the click collect location), Amex $30 credit currently remains.

        • David Jones Sydney is both Elizabeth St and Market St (Market St being where Small Appliances are). Unless the Online team (who are based in Sydney) did a refund …

        • I think the online team handled all the refunds. I got the same generic email. Both purchase and refund transactions say david jones sydney and not the click and collect location. Guess we will have to wait and see if we lose the amex credit

  • i got my click and collect notice from my local store

  • Refund was processed by the online team and my amex credit has been taken back.

    • Same here, amex credit taken back yesterday.
