Travel Insurance for Only a Part of an Overseas Trip?

Hey all,
My girlfriend and I are going overseas to Japan this December. We will be going for two weeks and will spend two of those days at the slopes.

When I go to get travel insurance, adding the snow option is doubling my insurance quotes. Does anyone know if we can get an insurance policy for the trip, and then get a second insurance policy for just those specific dates where we are at the snow? All the sites I’ve looked at just have departure date and return date when choosing dates.

    just get the snow insurance for the two days that you are there.

      From where I’ve looked it seemed to be either all or nothing.

    I don't know if they're the best option for snow cover, but World Nomads allow you to start cover if you have already departed, and allow you to insure for just a portion of a trip, or at least they used to.

    Just call them up, I think you'll find they can do that over the phone
