Alternatives to selling on eBay?

I have been selling a small niche product range for a few years now with consistent results. This year results have plummeted.
Aust eBay CEO yesterday said that 95% of their business was now major retailers. So I am getting charged heaps more and buried in their advertising.
Is setting up a store at any level worth the additional charges?
Is Gumtree credible for marketing?
Other options? Websites already operating, but nowhere near critical mass.

  • gumtree is god awful a lot of the time for me. had an Xbox one X on gumtree and just had lowball offers. had 5 free listings on eBay (no final value fee) and sold the item almost instantly for the price I wanted.

Gumtree is great for selling 2nd hand items, you just need to set up your ad appropriately to filter out tyre kickers.

      I always say -

      • No sms, I won't reply to sms.
      • Please call if you want it.

You still get people sending sms offering stupid figures, but I just ignore them.
People that want the item will call.
Don't forget it's free to use with 10 photos.

  • Gumtree is always worth operating on even just having a recurring ad that shows your product should net you some extra cash. Just of course check your competition but if you were selling well on eBay then I guess gumtree should be good as well unless your product is very depreciative then second hand undercut market might kill ya.
