      modify rules.ini so 5 cloning tanks can be built in the campaign for $5 each without needing power
      6 engineers for $500, playing Red Alert 2 the ozbargainer way =)

    I'd be interested to know if this Ultimate Edition works ok on Win10…

    I still play RA2 at times and it took quite a bit of stuffing around to get it running right on win10, from memory I think I had to download a 3rd party loader….

      It does run on Windows 10, but you need to change the graphic options to 16 bit colour and it takes a bit of stuffing about in its ini files.

      Yup - The Origin release sucks, misses a few dependencies for Win10 and the default launcher doesn't work. You need the 3rd party bits. Red Alert 2 still my fav. Who doesn't love a mind control giant octopus. And Frank Klepacki's sound tracks.

      Download and install https://www.virtualbox.org/

      Install Windows 7 on the VM

      Install C&C Ultimate Edition

      Game on!

        I did that but I still got black screen of death. Audio but not video-which is the common complaint. Also, I need to install VC runtime.
        It you have a succint guide to doing the install you might want to post a link for the benefit of others.

          I haven't played for a while, I just fired it up and yep, black screen, lol… I guess one of the windows or nvidia updates have killed it again ;(

          @FLICKIT: Nup - It's not an nVidia thing. I have AMD, same issue. It's Origin/EA being slack.

    There must an old PC still lying around for you guys somewhere? I made sure I have at least one running PC with Windows XP installed that can run all my fav old games. It is worth it when one suddenly doubt where one's old, youthful days were spent on?
