Video Game Bargains Anyone?

I use both www.gamecafe.com.au and www.gamestracker.com to find my video game bargains.

Are there any other sites out there people know of?

I love a good deal on my games.

    Smith….maybe, but Kudilczak??

    one in a million!

    (snigger)

    • Damn.. this sorta thing is rife these days. Why don't these people just offer a discount, and post as a bargain with Rep status.

      • Not even necessary to do even that. The site looks pretty good. If he just came here and said, hey check out my new site on the forums then fine. But SPAMMING the wiki, comment spamming and spamming the forums is not the way to bring the right attention to your business. He has also spammed various other places around the web.

  • considering its just a game price engine
which people base those recommendations in going to uy
i dunno why the smoke and mirrors
not like we are buying stuff from his site

although he might be getting commissions
and he might not should all the good cheap sites
just the ones he gets best commssions on

Interesting poem. Your sentences don't rhyme though.

      • Haha, it could be his own interpretation of a haiku.

I just found this site (ozbargain), and I was worried if I was honest about my site (gamecafe), people would think I was spamming.

I don't make any money on it… well I make a small amount of commission but it doesn't out weigh the cost over running a dedicated server 24/7 processing up to 1Tb of data a month!

Hey guys… yeah sorry… all the smoke and mirrors is a bit weak. Yeah I have been working on the GameCafe site for a little while as a hobby project - couple of hour a week here and there. I would appreciate any constructive feedback you might have… especially any ideas you might have for making it more usable.

One suggestion I get quite often, is to add 'stock' information to the results grid. It is a little tricky to keep the stock information updated, as this would need to be updated alot more often than the prices themselves… Other ideas are welcome.

Thanks for not bagging it too much :)

    • Andrew — thanks to be honest here! It should be a virtue more frequently rewarded on the Internet.

And your site certainly looks very useful. Cheers!

  • nice site man, just what me and my friends could use. I'll definitely spread the word. Maybe you could expand to Blueray Movies too in the future, that would be great too

    • Not a bad idea… I've maxed out my server just processing the 70 odd game stores trying to keep all the prices up-to-date. I think there might be a way to do more of the processing on the client side (say, in the javascript on the browser) which would alleviate all the work on the server. Hmmmmm, might start looking into that.

Blu Ray movies might be a good way to explore some of these new ideas :)

      Cheers!

  • Can I suggest an iphone app for gamelane, nothing could be handier than clicking an app and finding the cheapest place to pick up that title you wanted whilst in town. Also getting onto the itunes store would get your site exposure.

    • But I guess it's all up to Apple if they're willing to give you free advertising.
