iPhone 7 Plus Restarting after Screen Repair

Hi all wondering if anyone here can give advice why an iPhone 7 plus would be restarting after I replaced screen.

I followed these instructions

I was very careful to ensure that the same screws went back into the correct location.
But now it restarts randomly and the home button does not respond but yet it will record new fingerprints however assitive touch has also turned on.

Take it to Apple and have it repaired properly.

  • If you replaced the screen, you could have potentially touched literally one of any number of things inside the iphone that could be causing this issue.

  • Did you use a genuine Apple LCD or a generic one?

The only people that have access to Apple LCD is Apple or its authorised repairer.

      • That answers that question then…!

Hopefully you didn't break anything opening it up.
Where did you source your replacement parts?
I would recommend posting this on ifixit for a higher chance of getting a solid answer.

You risked a 1k phone on a self repair? You're braver than I.

  • I have repaired plenty of iPhone 4 5 and 6 and 6 plus before . First time for a 7.
Therefore confident that it's been done correctly. (I use to repair PC mothboards for a living)

I was enquiring for positive comments not for negatively.

Was hoping that a repairer might give a quick tip but obviously all the experts want to add their 2 cents worth

    • From my experience, check that the cables are properly attached. It might seems to be properly attached but sometimes for unknown reasons it causes glitches. Just take it out and put it back in carefully.
Take the new screen out and put the old screen back in. If the problems stop, it might be due to your new screen. Aftermarket screens are not the best.

      • Thanks will give it another go tonight.

All fixed the top camera ribbon was not connected. No more restarts and home button now working

        Cheers for info

    • Doing these things is always a risk-benefit analysis. (as opposed to a straight cost-benefit). And risks are, for obvious reasons, measured in terms of once-in-every-X-times. So you've been lucky but probability has caught up.
