Penny Skateboards 22" from $56, 27" from $60 @ Penny Australia + Free Shipping

450

Excellent prices considering shipping is also free and it's from official retailer.
Haven't hopped on one of these in years, but the 22" was great fun in highschool.

Sale seems to be part of their black friday deals, there's also a CM40 code for 40% off full price, but plenty of bargains in sale.

Great Christmas idea for kids, or kids at heart and perfect for summer!

How to choose what size, in my experience a 22" did feel a little clumsy coming from someone that was a size 10US shoe and 6' who rode 8" wide regular skateboards for years. If your on the larger size I'm thinking the 27" would be worth looking into if you can sacrafice the portability of the 22".

Plastic boards are FUN, and these are by far the best plastic boards you'll find for 60 bucks

    Awesome!

My daughter is only 3, but all she has asked for, for Christmas all year is a skateboard. And when the bigw/target skate boards are all $50 anyway, and don't have any girl looking ones. This is a great buy. I picked up the 'sweet tooth' 22", alternate pink and sky blue wheels and covered in donuts. Now to find her a pink skateboarder helmet

    Thanks again for posting!

BigW/Target skateboards are mostly rubbish. A penny board is much better quality, but expect a steep learning curve for a 3 year old.

      • She'll only sit on it more than likely. I have tried to talk her out of it. I got her a shopkins scooter for her birthday in July, and the frowns I got have scarred me for life.

It's the only thing she has actually asked for. She may never use it properly, but if Santa doesn't bring her the one and only thing she actually asked for. There will be hell to pay.

    • get elbow and knee pads. These boards a child can fall over pretty easily

She'll either be on dead flat ground on the side of the house or wrapped in bubble wrap hahaha.

Don't worry, pads and helmet on order too.

She rides a scooter better than her 7 year old brother, she is right handed and left footed so has this weird level of great balance for her age. Better balance than me now.

We shall see, it'll probably just become an ornament, but as I said, it's all she has actually asked for. So Santa must deliver.

For a 3 year old, the $15 k-mart knock offs of these penny board would be more than sufficient.

Cool story bro, needs more dragons.

i have to disagree. the quality of the kmart boards is terrible; the wheels/bearings, for one thing, don't even spin freely. also, the trucks and bushings are crap and don't turn well enough. if a kid can't ride the damn thing, they're going to get frustrated, give up and you've wasted money on a piece of crap no one wants on gumtree.

for something as potentially dangerous as a skateboard, the kid's safety should be considered first and quality components matter.

Thanks tdw. I wanted something good quality. As what you said, if the wheels don't move freely, or the child can't get it to operate correctly. Due to difficulty, they may give up on it, even if they were too young to begin with.

But at the end of the day, she isn't asking for much. So I wanted something 'graphically' that would make her eyes open super wide, and her jump up and down with excitement.

Beyond the practicality of a well made product (which Penny Boards are). I wanted something that would make my child super excited, visually on Christmas morning. And while not willing to pay $150 dollars, paying $60 to do so, is money I would gladly spend again.

  • For postage, what does it mean by "Free Ground Shipping"?
Are they still going to post it via Australia Post?

Great post op! My 5yo has been begging for one for Xmas but at 150 a pop was a bit much. Got one for $60 which is perfect. Thanks

Had the same issue. I used a different web browser and then it worked

  • Very tempting. If my second hand purchase falls through I may just go ahead.

  • Any differences between size? I am figuring the 27 is easier to use?

    • 27” will be more stable and have a wider area for your feet. That’s the only real difference.

      • Thanks, I have a no brander and figured this would be better. I wanted the 32" but none ron the site. Appreciate ur reply.

    • If you don't already skate, full size people ride full size boards. Once you know what you're doing, you can do what you want.

  • I'm a 30 year old man, how difficult are these to use.

Is a helmet required by law these days or what?

    • +1

these plastic boards flex a lot so if your balance isn't ninja-like, you might struggle when learning.

you might want to opt for one of the wood deck cruisers that globe, obfive and zflex make.

i'm not up to date on helmet laws, but i can tell you from personal experience, you'd want to wear knee and elbow pads more and learn to fall correctly.

    • No helmets are required by law, but if you’re older and just starting out I’d highly recommend one.

if you’ve got decent balance, you should be fine. I’d go for the bigger board for stability though least while you’re starting out.

  • i got a 22" and 27" at home …. just ordered a 27" in blue….. no idea why I need another one but its pretty cheap!

    • spare parts lol.

i already have 3 penny boards, but got another gamma glow because ERMAHGERD GLOWINTHEDARK

  • It's a shame penny australia still don't have the new 32" boards, they're pretty much the perfect sized cruiser without being stupidly expensive.

Thanks mate! Just purchased my two boys Christmas presents! Both the 27" variants - figure they will be better for when the boys get older.
