Multiple eBay Accounts and Delivery/Pick-up of Goods

After reading on here that many Oz Bargain members have a second eBay account knowing that eBay will send the dormant account 'offers' to entice them to spend again, I created a second one in a different name, but same mailing address.

My question is how do people get around the potential problem of missing a delivery and having to collect it from a post office where you'll need to sign for the item and show ID? The same goes for 'click and collect'

Do you simply put a note on the order advising you authorise Joe Bloggs of XYZ to pick up or sign for the delivery? Or did I stuff up by not using the same name?

The reason for asking is I finally got a couple of vouchers off Ebay this week. The first one was for $20 off my first purchase, followed by 20% off my first purchase a few days later.

Both mine are in my name….. No issue.

Just change your name/details to be valid.

    • Thanks - all done.

It was hidden away in the 'Primary postage' field to change the addressee for delivery's. Time to use the voucher

  • Seems like you have got your solution from the JimmyF above, but I'm pretty sure the post office lets anyone from the same address as you pick up and sign for a package on your behalf.

Say your name is Jim and the name of your second account is Bob. The post office will let you (Jim) pick up and sign for a parcel addressed to Bob so long as you live at the same address as the imaginary Bob (your drivers licence will be evidence of your address).

They do, UNLESS its a person to person delivery, which can happen if a telco sends out a mobile or sim card. They will only let the person on the label pick it up.

  • Breaking the TOS for eBay…

    • +4

ebay is a scum company, who cares.

Put one in your name then and one in your partners.
