PC Byte Has Lost My eBay Order - Can I Get a Refund?

I ordered a Nvidia GTX 1060 WindForce OC 3GB from PC Bytes eBay Store using the code PING20.

Its ETA from eBay was Monday and it is still not here and I have no tracking number.

After calling their number I finally got through and the person said they would have to check the warehouse and call back later. They called back and said that my order was lost. The guy claimed that they would make sure that they called me today at lunch so I am waiting. Hopefully, they can have it to me by next week but if they can't, can I get a refund via PayPal?

Be warned next time they have a good special as it may not be worth the hassle.
What should I do?

Because one poor experience defines the entirety of a business. smh

There has been a few other posts from people on here with similar issues. Their eBay feedback (that I didn't read in the rush to buy this) says similar stuff. It doesn't define it but it does indicate that they have poor shipping times.

  • AFAIK you are covered by PayPal if you do not receive the item. You can open a PayPal dispute if you find that PC Bytes support are not as helpful as you would like.

  • Wait a reasonable time for them to get the product to you (usually 14 days). If it still doesn't arrive, ask for refund and/or open a case with eBay/Paypal.

PC Bytes has been pretty good every time I've dealt with them, so I'd extend them the benefit of the doubt and give them a chance to resolve this first.

I've had terrible experiences with three items from PC Byte which involved them taking money for a transaction and then doing various things to delay refunding for a month.

      (profanity) PC Byte.

    • Ok I will probably wait but I'm still waiting for them to call me so who knows what's happening.

I ordered an SD Card about 2 years ago. It stopped working after about a year, and PC Byte were very quick in replacing it with a brand new one (which is working fine).
Their customer service is pretty good by my experience.

On the other hand, Toys R Us lost part of my order, which I had to chase up after 20 days after the order went through…was pretty pee'd off about that. It was "lost in transit" even though it wasn't shown as sent.

Won't be ordering a graphics card from toys R Us then ;). I think their service has changed as the neg reviews on ebay have tripled lately.

      • LOL - I just wanted to point out the customer service difference.

But I agree, customer service can change a lot in a year coughdellcough

  • please tell us you lodged a dispute through paypal 'before' making this post?

  • May be no fault of the company given they hand over to a freight company for shipment. Give them a chance to resolve the issue.

    • Only if they shipped in first place even then delivery is retailers responsibility

  • Hello. I just received a keyboard I ordered from PCByte - DasKeyboard Pro.

So it looks like it was just your order and everybody else is fine. It might be explained by maybe one of the staff being annoyed at you for something so they delayed your order on purpose?

  • lol lol lol

they are bad because they as a company deliberately 'lose your order' so they would just spend more time looking for your lost items?? where is your logic??

Items get lost from time to time, it is beyond their control. Blame the postal company if you wish to.

    • Silly comment, item could be OOS and they could still be taking orders. Besides they should pay postal insurance to avoid these scenarios.
