Focal Price

I ordered some things from focal price and I received an email dated about a month ago, saying my order had been shipped yet I am still to receive my items.

Unfortunately I have forgotten the password to my account and every time I try to have it reset via email I never receive the email to reset my password.

I have tried contacting them via the contact us page but the only reply I received was some generic one telling me to log in and send them a message via mymessage or something. I even tried replying to the email address that replied to me but again I got some useless generic email response.

I've contacted them via the live chat form but am still to receive a reply.

I was wondering if anyone here had any similar experiences and how they resolved it or knew of a way to get in contact with Focal Price.

  • Whoa.. coincidence.. I ordered something it never arrived, it was only $2.

    But after multiple enquiries they said "please keep wait", then said "we offer refund if not within 1 week", then "would you like resend". I took the re-send and also opened a paypal dispute to ensure I have some way of holding them to it, and recovering my $2 (hehe) if I have to.

    Dunno about the pword reset thing tho.

  • haven't had a problem with them yet, besides when i ordered 3 small items and only 2 shipped, when there is a problem i just contact using live chat and they will let you know what is happening with the product. by giving them the order number, they can see which items have been shipped already and which haven't, and let you know approximately how long until they arrive.

    i just use the Forgot my Password feature just then, and within a second, i got an Email from "FocalPrice.com - 06" subject "Thankyou for choosing focalprice.com" with my new randomly generated password to login. Perhaps you need to check your junk email, or another email folder for where emails from FocalPrice may arrive. what email service are you using?

    • I don't have folder for focal price emails and I've checked my junk email and there's nothing. I can also receive all other generic emails they send me when I contact them.

      Do you know what hours the live chat is operational?

      Edit: Weird I just used google chrome to request a new password and now I've received a new password.

      Edit2: and the password doesn't work. :(

  • If you bought via PAYPAL, lodge dispute with them.

  • I bought from them recently too and the order got sent in 2 batches- first arrived in 4 weeks and second took 6 weeks. Other things I've bought internationally have also taken very long to arrive, with one of the places saying there were 'customs delays'.

    I did email focal price and they replied with a generic 'can you please wait a bit longer'. For now, I would just wait an extra week or two to see if they arrive. In my dealings with FP and DX and the like, they usually take 4-6 weeks to arrive anyway.

    I was finally able to get working password sent to my inbox and have used it to sign in and send them a message, so I'll see what happens.

    I still don't understand why when I tried to reset my password via firefox I wouldn't receive the email yet when I did it with Chrome it worked straight away.

    • it's about web coding and standards, sites like FP commonly (ie. LT) don't care about standards so sometimes advanced web functions don't work in every browser. usually just switch between the three browsers, IE, FireFox, and Chrome as they are based on 3 different web engines (google for more info) and eventually it should work.

  • FP and DX have experienced delays.

    Up until today I have had no info on where the problem has been. But got a FP package which had a true post mark on it from china post. (you know those round imprints that is used to cancel stamps) It was posted on 18th of October and was delivered today. Now the FP site said shipped out on 17 October, so it looks like its the postal system which has held things up.

    Now I dont know if China post has different deals on shipping. They may have a standby rate for bulk shippers.

    I got some DX mail that they said was sent on 20th Oct on Wed and another DX package that was sent on the 30th Oct which arrived on Tuesday. So later orders are coming thru faster than earlier ones.

    How does this occur, well maybe someone in the chain has got overloaded, and bags have just been dumped on top off each other, now they are clearing the backlog, and the earlier mail is at the bottom so its getting cleared after the later posted mail.

    But to me its somewhere in the postal system thats causing the delay

    • Wow, with delays like that you're probably right. I've ordered from DX and even focalprice before and as far as I can remember it never took more than about 2 weeks for the items to send.
