The SNES mini natively outputs 720p (which is a perfect multiplication of the SNES native resolution), so a cheap 720p TV would actually be ideal. I look at the usual suspects, Big W and stuff, and it looks like TVs are all about being 50 inches and 4K these days. The 720p TVs offered are pretty expensive and cheap looking.
Any nice little cheap 720p TVs for my SNES mini? An IPS would be amazing.

I guess 1080p would be fine. I figured 720p would be better because it's native and probably cheaper.
720 has been priced out of the sweet spot. You might find one, but it'll be some garbage panel with crappy picture quality by every metric, come with a built-in DVD player no one wants, and probably cost about the same as an entry-level 1080 set.

Couldn’t you change the settings of the tv to only output the 720p signal and not try to do any crappy upscaling?
Maybe look to gumtree for an old plasma/lcd that could only do 720p naturally.
