Bought a Xiaomi Redmi phone from 2 and half weeks ago's deal:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X 4G Phablet 64GB ROM $207.73 AUD

The shipment tracking was showing "Customs Held" since a week ago.
And I'm trying to call this "UBI smart parcel" for days, their customer support line is not answering at all. What's going on? Any other Ozbargainers bought a phone on that day too?

    Well, I hope you receive your parcel, however out of 10 orders for me only 7 arrived. The rest got "lost", with the same case as yours. Heard about users who did not receive any parcel at all.

    My advice: Wait one more week and then contact them again.

    "Customs held" should give you everything you need to know. The package is currently held up in customs. Why? Because customs might need to check it further?

    As for UBI, they're one of Auspost's partners in China. They wouldn't be much help since the package is held in customs. According to Auspost you should contact the customs office.

      Usually Customs are querying the claimed value and therefore whether duty is payable.

    My Xiaomi 4x has been at Shenzhen (undefined ?) since 11/11/17 but is only being sent by registered post.

    I'm guessing this is Chinese custom that held item? Maybe there isn't enough (or none) battery declaration or something. You need to let seller aware that item is in held with custom and let them do something.

      Four days after uplift, I reckon it's with Australian Customs. My 'export customs' events happen between the Shenzhen "Item despatched to Transshipment hub" and Hong Kong "Uplifted from Transshipment Hub" steps.

      This time of year is notorious for delivery slowdown as Customs and AusPost struggle with the influx of packages.

        I agree. It's australia customs. Because my "Customs Held" happened only AFTER Hong Kong "Uplifted from Transshipment Hub".

        Hongkong itself is a transport Hub city and doesn't count as China mainland. If held by China custom, it won't get to HK, mostly will happen between Shenzhen and Hongkong.

    Update:
    The phone arrived yesterday 6/12/17. It was ordered on 13/11/17, so, 23 days. not too bad…

    BTW the phone is quite fine so far I test it. Fast responds to input, doesn't heat up, and long battery life. Nothing much to complain for its price. Camera is not perfect but in dark it's better than my Redmi Note 2.
