Best Business Rewards Credit Card?

Hi everyone,

Been searching for a bit but can't find anything current in regards to business reward credit cards.

I run an online retail store and purchase a lot of stock, all which is processed by credit cards and am wanting to know what the best business points cards are.

We spend around $1.5 million dollars a year through credit, so you can see why points may work out quite well, and most suppliers are Visa/Mastercard though one supplier is around $15k a month and they prefer Amex.

I've gone through the banks sites and all that but really struggled to grasp how much points are worth etc, so does any of you bargainers know what the best rewards cards for business are?

Amex points are worth the most in almost all situations.

Each point earned can be transferred to a partner airline at a 1:1 ratio. I don't think any Visa or Mastercard does that. And if you're smart about which frequent flyer program you sign up to (Asia Miles) you can fly return business class to Asia for only 80k points. Europe for 180k.

Qantas does business class flights to Asia for 120k points.

In terms of cash value, it's 1000pts=$7. Visa and Mastercard is 1000pts=$5.

Plus the travel benefits such as unlimited world wide lounge access, hotel elite membership (free room upgrades and free breakfasts), and free rental car insurance really makes AMEX shine.

I have the personal Amex Platinum Charge card, which has similar features as the Platinum business card, and I have really taken advantage of everything it has to offer. Although the business card has less personal benefits such as a no travel credits.

Coincidentally I have a friend who's a business card specialist at AMEX (I'm not associated with AMEX. Just a typical ozbargain AMEX fan), so if you want I can get her to contact you and do a better job at selling the card than me.

Pretty sure her job is commission based so she'll be bending over backwards to get your account.

Maybe you can bargain with your suppliers - you'll pay by bank transfer in exchange for a 2% discount, as you're offsetting their CC fees.

It seems like big $$$, so maybe they'll agree.

  • Hi Luke, there are lots!
Comes down to what you want to do with the points
This will determine the path and shortlist the cards available!

If you travel overseas to meet your suppliers etc, you could buy those flights with points, and fly business class
