Best Honeymoon Destinations in June

Hey OzB, I'm looking to book a relaxing honeymoon ideally between June 4-17 2018 for 9-13 days.
We prefer a luxury style accommodation with a beachfront, with the weather permitting snorkelling and activities.
Looking to spend under 6k but am flexible depending on what activities are available.

If any one has any suggestions please let me know!

Thanks :)

    malaysia - langkawi island

    • I love langkawi !!! So good, and not crowded. Its a very "Island" type getaway. You also have penang, but more developed.

      • I was in langkawi late june and it was busy with holiday makers from the gulf.
i've never seen so many burkinis and hookah pipes.
Fine but a different sort of vibe for a honeymoon.

The obvious choice is Heron Island!
Cheap at that of year / beachfront / semi-luxurious as a bit dated now but an amazing place!!

        • I was there for my honeymoon in may and we were in a hotel a million miles from most tourists… I guess you can luck out.

Our hotel had 16% occupancy… brand new fancy hotel. Very empty.

        • That would be there summer right? Probably escaping the 50 - 60 degree heat lol

    • Great! Will do some research

      • Stay at The Westin

Including flights ? Or are flights separate?

Personally I’d head to Italy and spend a week in the Cinque Terre region. There are beautiful beaches , hiking and excellent food. On the way do 2-3 days in Florence and a day or 2 of retail therapy in Milan.

It really depends on what you like? Shopping ? History ? Hiking ? Beaches ?

    • The 6k would include flights ideally. We are more looking to relax then do too much sight seeing or shopping at this stage.
      Thanks for the suggestiions.

      • The Cinque Terre is fantastic, and I reckon you could do that timeframe for 6K return if you look hard.
Might be busy that time of year though.

    • I think we'll save that one for another time but definitely keen later on!

      • The islands in Cambodia are amazing…

June is a great time for swimming with whale sharks and manta rays in Exmouth & Coral Bay. Turquoise Bay is great for snorkeling.

    • Awesome, will look into it thanks

bruh just get a cheap airbnb near the coast , a bottle of olive oil and 24 pack of energy drinks. then enjoy your time together.

  • Hamilton Island or Fitzroy Island in North Queensland. Although you may not get a bit bored of the island after 1 week.

As everyone suggested, June is the perfect time for a North Queensland trip (dry weather, less chance of death by jellyfish etc). And the Pacific islands for the same reasons.

Asian weather is very weird in June and I personally wouldn't bother heading north of the equator (which pretty much just leaves part of Indonesia). Unlike KL and the east coast of Malaysia, Langkawi is pretty wet in June, not that most people seem to complain over an extended trip. But coming from Sydney I'd be bored out of my brains there after more than a few days (and that was before I went there the second time since I was heading to Koh Lipe).

Depending on your background, travel experience and how long you've been on OzBargain will affect how exotic you'll find Asia anyway. Since travelling to Asia is so accessible and affordable these days it's made places in Europe (like Cinque Terre mentioned above) seem more exotic in some ways.

  • 1st choice: Islands in the pacific - Anywhere such as Hawaii, Vanuatu, Fiji, Cooks is, new Calendonia

2nd Choice: Phuket (Thailand) - its still grea weather even though its low season

    3rd Choice - Bali

    BEST WISHES

  • Vanuatu… Doesn't get too hot and the water is nice and cool, no cyclones, and lots of beach bumming and relaxing is available..
