USB Cable for Xiaomi XiaoFang IP Camera

I got the camera but the supplied cable is too short to be used anywhere in my home.

I can maybe get

1- Long USB cable (with a slender snout).
2- USB Extension cable (Better as the power hole for camera is a bit small)
3- Power cord extension and then use the supplied cable + Power adapter

Now I am looking for a 4th option.

TIA

  • 20,000mah Xiaomi Powerbank2? It would power the camera for a pretty long time, although you'd have to remember to charge it.

    • Good suggestion. I may add some cheapo powerbank as I have one lying around but hard to climb their every week.

  • Ok, good luck.

  • the cable came with my IP camera are pretty long tho…tbh longest of ive received for being a micro usb…

if we are talking about same cable..you better not get any longer cable than this…

    I would go for:

    2- USB Extension cable

They can come very long and are not very expensive.

    • 5 m for 6 AUD delivered. This is my current choice as well.

make sure you take into account USB cable's internal resistance, which causes a loss in power the longer the cable is.

        • I was thinking to take a long USB cable and then put a powerbank in it and use the output to be sent to the camera.

There will be a voltage drop for sure. But the camera may not complain. Need to test these things by weekend.

        • The test failed with a 5m USB extension and a 1.5 metre supplied cable.
