Wireless Earphones for Gym (Chrissy Present)

G'day guys
My wife is a gym junkie and has been hinting at some wireless earphones.

Any recommendations around $100?
I see some Sony, jbl and plantronics but I'm a bit lost.

  • Earphones or Headphones? Both are two different products. In ear or over the head?

I bought these for $71 during the eBay 18% off deal when it was $90 (now $99).

They are perfect for gym. I run, jump, lift etc… and it doesn't come out. I set mine up like this

Yes it comes from Honk Kong (grey import) but it is genuine. My brother has genuine and could confirm it's genuine. You're paying less because you get limited or no warranty.

Recommendation: wait for another eBay deal.

    • This feels like one of those 'if it's too good it probably is' seeing as they're $199 at jb hifi

I get approximately 4 sessions of gym (1.5hr/session) without the additional battery clip. This clip can be attached to give you an extra 3-4 hours of battery life. Anyways, as a gym junkie myself and having gone through a few $10 Bluetooth headphones, I'd highly recommend this. I've also heard good things about the beats, plantronics and Sennheiser earphones but give or take $$ or quality. See what others say.

        • I'd be a bit wary of the jaybird freedoms. I had a pair for 13 days before they fried entirely. No idea how or why, I was doing nothing out of the ordinary with them but some research (albeit after) the issue showed I was not the only one. Luckily I'd purchased mine locally and the store refunded no questions asked. Long way of saying although I loved the look and the feel of the jaybirds, reliability wise I am not the only one they have died on. I'd want the warranty a local purchase offers.

Replaced them with Beats which while they do the job, I'm not convinced they are worth the money. But I was in desperate need on headphones after two pairs dies in a fortnight (the jaybirds and some generic headphone I'd had before hand to check I'd use them).

Yeah just a look online and seems like a few others are having similar issues or only working with battery clip on. Well my brother has had his for a year now and I've had mine for a few months and all is well touch wood.

  • I had Plantronics BackBeat GO 3 for a year, it's ok but falls out when running or lifting weights regardless of what size earbuds I put on. I switched to apple earpods a few weeks ago from the myer ebay deal (188), bloody amazing, I can do backflips with them and they will still stay on (theoretically). worth the extra cost

  • The Phaiser760 is worth a look for sure, I've had them for about 6 months bought 3 sets as presents and like them more than the Jlab Epic2 that they replaced.
The Epic2 set I had to get replaced 3 times in 4 months before I gave up on them.
