SIM Card for Travel to Canada

Travelling to Canada for 2-3 weeks early next year. Any ideas on what is the best SIM card to get (mainly for data, say 2-5GB)?

  • Good luck, Canadian data is ridiculously expensive.
When my daughter was there on exchange last year the cheapest option was Koodo.
I would consider Vodafone $5 roaming, as Canada has been added, or possibly some US and Mexican SIMs that allow Canadian roaming.

    • My friend is paying $40/month for 600mb data….I just don't understand it. Canada is so forward with many things but when it comes to data …

  • Buy a US AT&T simcard here before you leave, they'll work in Canada.

I normally pick up one with unlimited data.

    • Is this something yo ucan do if you live in Canada? Just buy the US Sim and use it every day without issue?

      • Yah, most people I know got their sim cards in America and just top up each month.

Canadian telcos charge about $80 for 1GB plan with unlimited sms and 300mins of calls, or $120 for 4GB with unlimited calls…..

    • Thanks Drew22 any idea on where the best place to get them is?
