Dell Launched Group-Buy Site - Dell Swarm

Just saw this launched by Dell:

  • Dell Swarm — it should bring you to the Australian landing page I think.

Basically it's a group buy concept. According to How it works page, you:

  • Place an order for the item you wish to purchase by joining any of the current Swarms.
  • A Swarm goes Live once enough people join the Swarm. You can then buy your item at the Swarm price – and save!
  • After the Swarm ends, you'll receive a unique coupon link to customise and purchase your item via the Dell Australia website.

Currently it has Flip Mino II for $129.01 (beating the cheapest at Officeworks according to GetPrice). We'll probably see them more here on OzBargain in the future…

    yeh seems like a good idea. So basically you join to the swarm with the thing you want to buy. If you join a swarm do you Have to purchase the item.

    Yeah, signing up to a swarm means you are entering into the group of buyers which means you give you credit card details and commit to buying. Your swarm needs to reach the target firstly, in this case it's 100 units. It's a pretty good deal, thinking about signing up myself :)

    There is alert functionality on there, so I'm guessing that they send you updates every time someone starts a new swarm.

      How many items can I buy each time, and can I buy in both Live Swarms?

      One item in each Swarm per customer, please. You can, however, join more than one Swarms at the same time.

    I just signed up for the CISCO unit and it did not give me the option to buy any more than one, I didn't click on the monitor as I don't need one but it looks like you can but both products. Just need another 23 more people to buy!
