Booking.com Referral Question

I am a reasonably new user of booking.com and have a question around the referral process. Does anyone know if you can refer your spouse if you are both using the same credit card for the referral payment? Thanks for your help.

  • Booking.com is notoriously one of the most expensive booking websites FYI. Shop around.

No idea about your actual question sorry, just try it anyway!

  • Yes it still works, does not matter if you both save the same credit card in the Settings section.
I did it and received the credits back

  • Does anyone know if you can refer the same person multiple times to receive the bonus? I realize it states the referee will only receive the bonus one time, but if I (as the advocate) give my wife my referral code and she makes 10 seperate hotel bookings will I receive the advocate referral bonus for each one..

    From booking.com
    https://www.booking.com/content/referral-terms.en-gb.html?ai…
"The Advocate may only earn the Advocate’s Referral Bonus 10 times in total. Each Referee may only make use once of a Referral Link to create an Eligible Reservation, regardless if the Referee received or had access to separate Referral Links from different Advocates. Per credit card, a maximum of 11 Referral Bonuses can be earned (one as Referee, 10 as Advocate)."

    • Hahaha, I seriously doubt that. They want to maximise the number of people registering so once your wife is signed up, she can't be the referee for any advocates, you or anybody else. Unless your wife creates multiple accounts.

  • Yeh, I doubt it as well :). But I find it really unclear in the terms and conditions in terms of the advocate side of things if you need to be referring different people each time, or its fine to just refer the same person. Ive made a few booking using this method and am thinking it might be better to cancel them and use cashrewards or the 12% expedia mastercard discount etc but would like to know for sure regardless.

    • A referral is not the same as a booking. Once referred you become a member and then you make all the bookings you want but the advocate and the referee get the benefit once. For the advocate to get more benefits you have to refer more non-members.

  • yeh, that makes sense - thanks. think i might cancel some of these bookings and see if i can make use of other deals instead

  • How does one refer someone?
