  I doubt you'll be flashing it right away to the English ROM.

  You'll need permission from Xiaomi to unlock the phone (2 days - 2 weeks +), then 48 hours unlock time, then you can attempt to flash it.

  It's their best phone hardware wise.

  Edit: when asking permission, never chick the submit button more than once, even if no page send to be loading. They'll block you from requesting an unlock for 24-48 hours.

    He/She can flash the English MIUI rom it with the updater tool. No need to unlock the phone. BUT, Garfield3553, there are slight hardware differences with the different versions. You need to get the Global version. If you flash the global rom on the China phone, you risk things not working.

    See if you can get the Global edition.

      I suppose you can't get the global version in the Xiaomi stores in china would that be correct?

        I'm not expert, but I would think so, unfortunately. Take a look at them in the store. If they don't have the Google Play Store and other Google apps, you're better off getting one online.

        If it helps, I got the mi Max 2 from China, and flashed the global ROM onto it with no issues or compatibility problems. It took me about 2 weeks total, but I did screw up a bit (outdated ROM, asked for permission twice)

  My experience with lightinthebox is that delivery will take 3 weeks exactly
