Could you please recommend the best budget/ value for money Wide angle lens for a Canon Mount. APS-C sensor
I own the Canon 60D.

Would there be any December or future deals I need to look out for?

Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking about selling my 8mm Sigma fisheye and putting in some more money and getting this

    • Thanks armedgoat.

      +1 for the lens.
I have this lens.. excellent investment. loving it for the last 2 years.

I would like to take the wide landscape type photography and wanted to go wider hence the question.

  • how wide ?

    tokina 11-16mm f2.8

    • Not fisheye territory I guess. you know the ones with alot of distortion. Not a fan of that.

I would be looking at Canon 10-18 EFS. Personally I tried some sigma but Canon AF performs better and I think worth the premium.

If digidirect have another 15% off sale the prices are very competitive.

    Or find one second hand.

I don't think f1.8 sigma is worth the extra if you are just shooting landscapes. Only really needed for low light action.

Canon EF-S 10-18mm is really good value and light. It's not the widest aperture but for less money and much lighter, very close to the 10-22mm.

I have the Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens and it's great value. Strongly recommended. 👍
