Help with Google Home

hi everyone,

i have a google home & would like to play music on it thru a
external Bluetooth speaker (sony srs x-33). I have tried pairing
it thru the app but google assistant says it cant connect to the speaker.
Can somebody tell me if it can be done?

Separately, what is that mini usb port for when you remove the base?

you have to use Chromecast audio

    • thats what i was afraid of

  • The Bluetooth in the Google home is to connect to a Bluetooth MP3 player device. Not another speaker.

Wouldn't you just paid your phone to the sony speaker?

    Kinda confused what you're after

    • I assume sidewinder wants to talk to the google home mini and make it play music from Spotify/Google Music online to their Sony speakers.

Maybe using phone for other things at the same time or just doesn’t want to connect Bluetooth on the phone to the Sony speakers.

      Valid question.

But unfortunately tf2manu is right, Bluetooth audio out from google home is only to a chromecast

Fair enough I guess. It would only work with a Chromecast audio enabled device.
He can add a Chromecast audio to the Sony speakers inputs also

      • correct.
