Kogan or Amaysim issues or Ok?

Has anyone had any issues such as keeping their number when changing back from Kogan or Amaysim mobile?

My daughter (who is at uni) is looking to change (at my expense of course, hence the low cost options). As long as we can give it a go with little risk then we will proceed. She is currently with Telstra prepaid at the moment.

  • Look for Kogan sales. 40% on their 365 day sims.

    • 40% off is only available on this plan: Kogan Mobile Prepaid Voucher Code: EXTRA LARGE (365 Days | 16GB Per 30 Days)
      The rest are 15%, 30% and 35% :)

  • We swapped recently to Amaysim our 2 mobiles, very well organised and low cost.

  • I recently ported two Optus prepaids to Kogan, no problem at all.

  • Kogan is OK. the website is a bit shit, but who cares.

Also I bought a 365 day pack, topped up with a data pack as I used a lot of data one month - which then invalidated my 365 day pack.

They reinstated it, but apparently that is expected behaviour something to be aware of.

  • Im with Kogan and ill be honest it drops out from time to time and there internet is a bit shit this is a bargain website so they will praise it for being the same as other providers because people want it to be the same but that isn't in my experience.

It is a very much you get what you pay for, it is by no means terrible but i'd give it a rating of 6/10

Dont lock in for 365 days if you are unsure like i did

  • I was with Kogan, I changed to Amaysim because they had a 6 month, 1.5GB, $18-ish for 6 month deal.

I lasted a week before sacrificing my Amaysim deal to go back to Kogan 365 day deal.

In my opinion, they are both about the same, Amaysim is better than Kogan in the country (Voda network is horrible in the country) - I just had a really bad experience with Amaysim because of my specific living location (even though it was within 10km of Melbourne CBD..).

  • Kogan is Vodafone, Amaysim is Optus. Depends where you are and what coverage you need. I find Kogan is not as good as Amaysim coverage wise but I'm a sucker on Kogan's $1 or $5 deals.
