Old PS2 Guitar Hero Dongles

Hey, so, I think this is my first forum post. Sorry if I'm doing something wrong.

I recently came into a few old school Guitar Hero guitars for PlayStation 2. Thing is, there's no dongles with them. I've looked everywhere I can on the interwebs and found none for sale (there's a few for GH 3, but I don't have that guitar)

Anyway, I'm on here to ask if anyone has any old ones, and would be willing to part with them for a reasonable price, plus postage?

The guitars I've got, are the ones for
Metallica PS2
World Tour PS2
GH 5 / Band Hero PS2

I'm honestly not sure they even work, Metallica and World Tour power on but the other one doesn't even do that, so I don't really wanna spend a fortune on a dongle for them if they turn out to not work, but I understand they're a bit hard to come by now too so I don't wanna rip anyone off or anything, it's kinda a unique situation, they were EVERYWHERE for a while there and now they're nowhere, vanished. I finally understand how in 20 years the Empire managed to make the Jedi into a myth.

Anyway, I'm not expecting much, but any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!

  • I suspect they've been chucked, but I'll have a look next time I'm at Mum's.
She donated the PS2 and guitars, but didn't include the dongles.

    • Cheers, dude!

Also, that's a shame, the guitars are kinda useless without the dongles, would be a bummer if someone picked then up but couldn't use them.

  • Share us a photo of the end. It might not be too difficult to rig something up if its a standard plug

    • The end? These are all wireless dude. Unless I'm missing something, I don't know how to help.

      Thanks for replying though! :)

      • Ahh okay. I thought you might have been talking about the corded ones. They had a Din-usb adapter on the end of them I think. Yeah, with wireless there's not a whole lot you can do.

        • Bugger.

I am still rocking a corded GH2 one though, but it's worked fine since I got it a bloody decade or so back. Time flies.

    • That's the one for GH3. I've seen a few of them getting around too, thanks though dude.

  • Alternatively if you can't find a use for them, bring them on stage for a kareoke rock song performance. Then at the end of a killer guitar solo, take the guitar and smash it.
