Recommend Me Mobile Games - No Internet Required (for Flights)

So I am going on holidays - heaps of flight time.

Can anyone recommend me some fun playable titles that don't need an internet connection?

I like the kingdom rush series.
I've got mobile versions of ticket to ride, monopoly, catan, splendor.

I'm looking for a good 2d scroller / strategy / tower defense - mainly single player.

Or anything.. =)

Preferably free but i can pay a little $ with my google survey credits.

Thanks

Dont wanna assume you’ve played them but highly rated peggle and plants vs zombies back in the day. Surely everyone played PVZ
Bloons and bloons tower defence games also highly rated but they’re not the newest games by any means so graphics etc may not be as cutting edge

    • Thanks. I've played through PVZ awesome game, still revisit it.
      Peggle looks I interesting.

      • Peggle is a great game, pretty basic premise.
should be able to play a free version on pc
Has been around for ages and isn’t specifically what you were looking for but has heaps of challenges “maps” and different power ups

Mate another random one that was a bit of fun was Plague Inc
Basically you control a disease and have to mutate it to take over and kill the world..

        • Plague inc was great.

If you like simulation games, I find the Kairosoft games simple but extremely addictive.

    • +1 for Kairosoft. They're well worth the price of admission. There's a trial version for many of the games that will help you decide if it's for you.

    • any recommendations?
They have a huge library and I want to get best bang for buck.

Game Dev Story was the first one I played and one of their earliest games so it is the easiest to pick up (and I think it is the cheapest).

I enjoyed Hot Springs Story and The Sushi Spinnery, while Mega Mall Story is also great.

In terms of the freemium versions, Beastie Bay is like Pokemon and Dream House Days is a little bit like Sims. Both are okay to play without spending any money as long as you have a little bit of patience until you can exploit the gameplay mechanics near the end to earn premium currency quickly.

All of them provide at least 5 to 8 hours of gameplay, much more if you play to the very end and continue.

Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards

As you are on a plane then I suggest the original text based version. Don't want any upset kids.

    • Leisure Suit Larry

      Now that's a title I haven't heard of in a while!! haha

  • Fallout shelter
    Reigns
    80'days
    Traffic rider

If you ever bought Humble Bundle indie games, you may already own a lot of DRM-free mobile games on your humble account.

Thomas Was Alone is also a pretty good 2d sidescroller.

On sale now for 6 dollarydoos.

    • Thanks will have to check. I've got a many bundles I've never even open

  • I played Soul Knight heaps during my last flight and thought it was great fun - still haven't quite finished it though.

  • my favourite games is The Silent Age, Lost Echo and Leo's Fortune

  • Get a 2DS, they're pretty cheap now, could get a second hand one for $50 or less. Install CFW and have access to loads of games.

    • Leaving in 5 days so don't really have time. Most of my gaming is taken up by Pokemon at the moment.

      • If you get a brand new one (so lower FW) you can install it without needing anything else presuming you have an SD reader on your computer. So only having 5 days is no issue

        • Yeah I'd consider getting a 2nd had one for $50 but other than that probably not a new one.

  • I've been playing Motorsport Manager 2 lately and it is lots of fun. But the Kairosoft games are much better.

  • Bit late, but Robot Unicorn Attack 2.

  • GTA San Andreas
