What's a good inexpensive 1L drink bottle?

I'm after a strong, healthy (BPA-free?), hard (not soft like those gatorade bottles, but also not glass) not ugly (ahah), around 1L capacity water bottle. Does not have to be insulating, although I'm curious about those too.

The internet tells me that people find Nalgene/KleenKanteen are the best quality, but I'm finding that they're at least $20 or $30+ (AUD).
Where do you guys get your quality drink bottles? And are there some that have bargain prices $10 and under?

Cheers and stay hydrated!

Get those Voss water bottles, they go on sale at Dan Murphy's and Coles quite often

    • I'm pretty rough with my water bottles, so I'd prefer not getting glass.
      Thanks though!

        they're tough!

i've never dropped them but get knocked here and there (bench, etc.)

Yeah I dropped mine out of the car and it rolled down a hill and was fine

Can't get not-ugly cheap resuable water bottles. I've been looking myself.

Maybe Kor Aura water bottles? They're only 750ml though. I alternate between that and an A5 Memobottle

    • I like the Kor Aura bottles. Good design

      they do look aesthetic

Memobottle is definitely eye-catching, but the real thing (there's copies on eBay) is expensive as and a pain to clean the inside due to the narrow opening.

Lost property section at gyms can be a handy resource

    • Heh, yup. Although there is an unspoken rule to never touch the huge pile at my gym. Never!

You can get a black one of these, BPA free, pretty good:

    • did not expect woolies to have this, would be great when they go on 50% off. Shame about the loud "HYDRATE" on there. otherwise this would be perfect

Gonna recommmend a frank green one. It's expensive. It's less than 1L. But it's sturdy. It doesn't leak. It's easy to use. I got it as a gift and would never hesitate to buy another.

Otherwise try and find your local miniso. They have loads of bottles.

I'd still try for a Nalgene bottle - super strong and durable. Snowys has them at 16.9 at the moment, maybe local shop can price beat them down.

  • Get a canteen.
