Thinking of Going Back to Vodafone

I was with Vodafone years ago and change to other provider because of bad network coverage.

I am thinking of going back because vodafone have a good deal however not sure if vodafone has make improvement on network coverage

Would like to hear from current vodafone customer about their network coverage, frequent outages and customer service.

  • depends where in sydney.
best way is to pick up a 23GB kogan prepaid for $5 https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-prepaid-voucher-co…
and see how you go for a month.

no more outages than any other provider, no worse cust serv (in fact, probably better, but don't tell anyone)

bear in mind than regional coverage on vodafone is less, but if you infrequently travel remotely, then no biggie.

    • someone suggested to try with $2 voda sim, but we dont get any data with $2, right? so i cant test the internet stability

      • correct. pointless.
        spend $5
kogan is 100% same as voda coverage, plus u get 23GB's :)

        • yeah might do this test first, so troublesome if the connection/data/call is worst than my current optus.
if same i wont think twice to move to kogan.

  • +8

Voda is much better. Better than Optus.

  • +1

Vodafone is definitely better than Optus with customers service and the coverage surprisingly can beat it in Metro areas.

If you don't need roaming and such maybe check out the Kogan offerings above^

  • +1

can't remember how many times that I have no signal with virgin but my friend had full signal with voda at olympic park and top ryde city

Voda is asking for Telstra prices these days, so not worth it in my book. Based on my experience over the last two years, there are many blackspots on my daily commute route in Sydney. Optus is better and Telstra far better in my experience. For example, Voda drops the signal if I am in a lift at work but not Telstra. Telstra and Optus have competitive pricing these days and I wouldn't touch Voda anymore. My 2 cents

  • Maybe things changed since I used Vodaphone but I cannot imagine a provider with worse network coverage.

  • (profanity) the biggest regret was moving Voda to Optus. (profanity) optus seriously has the shitest customer service these days. Even in store.

Vodafone instore has the best customer service. At least the one I go too.

  • I went from Kogan (voda) to amaysim (Optus) and instantly change back to kogan due to better coverage, better internet quality and yeah.

Bearing in mind - Vodafone suck in the country. Like really suck.

But if you rarely go out there then its fine.

  • I wouldn't. I'm on Optus but whenever I'm with people on Voda they always seem to have worse service than me, including location services. I had a friend from out of town visit and rely on apps for location services and it never had them in the right spot. They couldn't even order an uber because it was so wrong. The second they put a different carriers sim in, all was fine.

  • Don't do it. I was with voda for a few days recently in between porting to telstra for that 20gb deal with JB hi fi. The vodafone network is shite. If you enjoy next to no data coverage on the train and in many places across sydney, go for it. Highly frustrating in my opinion

    • Totally agreed, travel to work by train some black spots that cut the call and data, I've made the complaints and over 10 years they never and unable to fix it.
