Wireless (with Wired Cable/Option) over Ear Headphones between $200- $300

I'm looking for a pair of wireless headphones with the option to plugin in a cable (for use on the plane for example). I'm looking for good sound quality, noise cancelling and most importantly comfortable over ear headphones.

Happy to pay a little more of premium if they're good quality with an international warranty.

Ideally I want at least 24 hours of battery life but happy to settle for 12 hours

I am interested in the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC Over-Ear Wireless Headphones from JB for $199 right now (189 if i buy a giftcard first as per the current promotion) but i read reviews that the sound is weak at the lower ranges and also they're not comfy after a few hours

  • Recently purchased Sony WH-1000xm2 and very happy with it so far. Can use wireless and wired. Also have a look at Bose QC 35II.

    • Ah thanks, I think they're both just a little outside my budget =/

  • I would recommend going in store to listen and try. Above suggestions are worth paying that little bit extra for. I got Sony ones for $360.

Will be able to comment in about a week on the sennheiser. From reviews, the un comfortability depends on shape of head and also use; initial discomfort does go away and the band is flexible.

OK have been wearing for last two hours and they're very comfortable. Slight pressure but good fit.
Noise cancelling with no music is not as good as the wired ac 7s I have, which also have a warmer sound with music…. But I haven't downloaded the app yet to play with eq… These are very precise… Pianos and keyboard notes are impressively short and vocals peak over them (Laura nyro, join Mitchell) and on Kanye west's new slaves I heard a lot that I'd never heard before in terms of vocal effects. The sound stage is good… Again, where the mastering has been done right (nyro, Neil Young) the separation is excellent. Gram parson's love hurts sounds intimate yet grand…
I think the question will be in what situations and for what music genres will you be using these… Soft acoustic or classical on a plane may not block what you want… Certainly the NC on its own will not. But pair it with a white noise app and you're all set

    • I ended up getting the Sony's from JB for $430 - $40 for the giftcard promotion for a total of $390, I'm also leaving the country after christmas so ill get another $43 off so all in all a price of $347 is pretty good

Still can't believe I paid almost the same price as a PS4 for a pair of headphones!

      • I think you'll find they well and truly pay dividends when you're on the plane. It's a good choice, and those headphones have received almost universal acclaim.

  • Intriguingly I think this is also jb beginning to price match Amazon. When I first bought mine jb still wanted around 260 I think 🤔
