Any good cordless drill deal out there?

Just wondering if anyone seen any good hardware tools deal/sales around. Looking for a good cordless drill deal lol. I don't want any of the no brand drills on ebay. Something reliable for a small home renovation job.

Thanks in advance guys&girls =]

If you're only going to use it for a few weeks and then very periodically after that, the cheapies are fine, particulalry in the case of a Cordless where the battery will eventually die of old age as the years progress.
Why spend $100+ on a drill/battery you're going to use 50 times before it's dead?

I have an 18V Ozito (from Bunnings) that's doing me fine for my home handyman stuff. It's 5 years old, used on perhaps 30 odd occasions over 5 years and seemed to be doing OK when I last used it a month or so ago…

I reckon I paid about $50 for it back then. Build quality is fine, it came with 2 batteries and a few cheapie drill bits that I've abused completely and broken a number of as a result, but I just don't care! They're sacrificial bits for jobs that are too dodgy/risky for my decent ones!

If you're going to use it often, then by all means go for a decent brand…

+1 for Ozito! I've got one myself, and some tradie mates who use and recommend them! They're cheap, usually nearly half the cheaper big brand names, the guys find them very reliable even with regular punishment; plus, they've got 3yrs no questions asked replacement warranty so if they break, you walk into Bunnings with your old one & walk out with a new one during that time, end of story, negligible down time! All win!!! :)

One of the guys I know went to buy a new battery for his 18v DeWalt cordless recently, and blew up when he realised for the same money he could buy a whole new Ozito 24v drill kit with two batts, charger & I think he even got a torch or something too! I think he had the DeWalt on ebay last I heard! :p

My advice though, don't skimp on bits…don't overbuy on ones you don't need; but pay a bit more for quality…as Scubacoles said, the included ones appear to be made of cheese, they're so bad they'll often stuff your job up, so don't risk it! ;)

  • Thanks for the feedbacks guys. After thinking about it, its true I'm going to be using it only for this summer so maybe a cheaper one won't hurt. Going head down to Bunnings and have a look at this Ozito one lol

    Thanks again guys =]
