Trading in games

What are the implications of trading in loads of the same copies of games? Considering I've read stories about how people abuse the jb trade in deals sometimes. Since they record your name wouldn't that flag something with the government?

  • from what I have heard/read, trade in restrictions only apply for deals where you trade in for a game free or cheaper than rrp,

  • Not a cop etc, but i'll give my 2c

The only way i see this is an issue, is if a store gets knocked over, and 50 copies of x latest game go missing, if the cops asked game (of whom you've just traded in 50 copies) then they might hand your name over*.

tbh i think its just a way to "scare" thieves into not selling stolen goods. Just like they check id for gold, hardly any of it has serial numbers, or is rare enough to be recognised as a special (stolen) piece.

As for your government idea, they have enough issue stopping $30,000 cars from being rebirthed, i dont think the underground game resale industry is a big issue. :P

*depending on their privacy they may need a warrant?
