  • Price?

    • +3

      Is it really that important?

  • Really want to pull the trigger but would it ever going to be lowest price like before $399 US

    • Probably not until next year? Why would they drop price again a few days later?

      • Bought it :)

        • hi5! hope you managed to use your 28 degrees or similar no fees card :(
Have reached out to occulus and paypal to see if I can reverse and re-charge.

        • @Jimothy:
Use Paypal AMEX. Exchange rate seems ok with AMEX

        • @test123123: amex is 3% isnt it?

        • @Jimothy:

My AMEX has no international transaction fee. I think it stop charging International transaction fee now. I checked recent purchased from Amazon using US dollar and they did not charge International transaction fee any more.

  • Another thing you may want to note. This comes with a 1 year warranty. The Amazon version only comes with a 30 day warranty.

  • Is the Rift a sit down at a desk or do I need a large area to move around in ?

    • +1

From my research, it will work with small area

      • +1

I got the 3rd sensor for better room scale possibilities

    • +1

Depends on the game you play. The hardware itself supports either option.

Racing games? Sit down in a seat and play.
Something like Robo Recall? Will benefit from a small area to stand and move around in.

    • +2

Buying Oculus Rift with an extra third sensor(Oculus comes with only 2 sensors) will make room scale possible. You can move around exactly like HTC Vive.

  • my order is marked as ready to ship, so turn around seems okay for now.

However on the mobile paypal app I didnt see the option to use my 28 degrees conversion rate instead so now ended yup paying 20 aud more.

They've just dropped the price to 379USD. For that price I'm totally tempted to buy one again.

I can't see the price though, when I go to the website it's still saying 429.

    Anyone seeing it at 379?

    • $379 US is US price. Please read Blog section for more information. It is $429 US including delivery to Australia.

      • Well that sucks :( I couldn't see anywhere saying US price only. At $379 I'd have purchased. I'll keep waiting.

        • Understand. I tried changing country to US and the price altered to $379 so I know that is US price

  • I tried to order this, thought I was being clever ordering direct… I may have spoken too soon, their shop experience and support responses are a nightmare.

Currently I am in limbo; my initial order was cancelled because I requested delivery to my post office instead of my home. Support were silent as to the reasons why… Two days later I have been asked to re-order using my home address and provide the order number to support. I am unable to use either of my credit cards and paypal somehow refuses to work on their site.

I'm thinking I should've gone with the Amazon deal instead, pretty disappointed, very little chance it'll get to me before Christmas now :'(

    • I agree, their support is terrible.

      • After wasting three days of my time I've told them I'll be taking my business elsewhere. There is something truly wrong with their store and support experience. Pretty peeved, might buy a Vive out of spite

        • Vive as a good $300 more but I can get on board with the sentiment.

        • @Jimothy: I tried to give them my money. They succeeded in making the experience horrific. Sucks to be them ¯_(ツ)_/¯

        • @darxtorm:

So did you grab vive afterall?

        • @Jimothy: bought a bunch of stuff for my PC and my Switch instead because (profanity) duopolies etc. I'll revisit this purchase decision once my rage has cooled off

  • Back up to 449USD :(

    • Hey after conversion fee from PayPal i ended up paying 449 usd equivalent. Its worth ecen cent man

      • Yes, Ill probably still by it but FYI they have bumped the price up 20USD in the last couple of days. Please fix the title.
