Xiaomi Mi A1 or Xiaomi Mi Max 2

Hi All,

I've being comparing the 2 for a while and can't decide which one to get.

from what I know:
Mi A1
Better software system Android One
smaller battery life
no quick charging

Mi Max 2
the size of the phone is huge (6.44 inches)
huge battery life
MIUI software system
do have quick charging

Other than these difference, the are basically the same.

Please help

P.S. What is the big deal with the Android One system?

I have to say stock andriod is not that stable as ppl said.
if you are not a big fun of stock andriod, Mi max is a way better phone.

A1 is made specifically to give you a stock Android experience, with no manufacturer bloatware, custom skins or special enhancements.

One good thing here (in Xiaomi's case) is that Xiaomi likes to preload their phones with telemetry tracking (Analytics-core) and for some people, that's a privacy concern but the Mi A1 phone is likely to not have any Xiaomi monitoring software onboard.

That said, if you bought the Mi Max and you're not a fan of the MIUI skin, you can always install Lineage OS and still get the stock experience (but this requires you to unlock the bootloader first, which can be a time consuming process that can take 1-2 weeks. http://en.miui.com/unlock/ )

The A1 is a great phone, I've had it for a few months and no issues so far. No lag, good battery life etc. Can't comment on the mi max though

    • How is charging time? No quick charging?

      • Nah no quick charging, it's still pretty fast though. Also to reply to your other questions - no band 28 doesn't make a difference to me as I'm with Vodafone and they don't use it anyway, same either no NFC - I never used it before

        • Thanks! I have a quick charger (from this deal), not sure if it makes any difference though if phone doesn't have that capability.
