Xiaomi Mi Notebook AIR or PRO (i5, 8gb ram, 256gb, mx150)

I'm planning to get the Mi Notebook Air or Pro made by Xiaomi, their specs seem identical except the CPU (7th gen for Air vs 8th gen for Pro) and the size/weight. Anyone here had experience with these laptops? Which has better battery life? better noise/heat control? better performance?

Also is there a very big chance of getting caught for paying tax to customs if buying from Gearbest? since the price is a bit over $1000 AUD for the Pro version.

Thanks!

Got the air, only because I got jealous of my girlfriend's MacBook air vs my 18 inch HP laptop.

So far it's amazing. Battery is fantastic, performance exceeds my expectations (which were high). Mostly good things.

    Now the negs.

The screen is very bright, I actually think it's a little too bright at lowest setting. Minor issue, probably not something you'll agree with.

It can get somewhat hot. However I've yet to notice any form of throttling, and I put it under decent stress at times (and have it in a blanket (so I use unity in bed, don't judge me))

When hot, it makes a little noise. Not much, but it's audible.

The battery drain in standby seems a tad high - but honestly it might just be that I leave it unplugged for weeks at a time.

No marking on the top - sometimes I try to open it from the back. A sticker could fix this.

The power adapter doesn't use a removable cable with that 8 joint, or three hole joint. So I'm using a Chinese adaptor, because it has the straight pins.
This cable is also quite short.

And yeah, I've had a couple beers. Hard day on the stock market with copper, though it worked out. (profanity) YOU COPPER.
So uhh forgive any spelling mistakes, grammar errors, and ranting.

Did I mention that 13 inches is quite small? (Sorry guys). I came from 18 inches (what what!) so it might be just that.

    • Thank you so much for the comment, I may get the bigger Pro, but not sure about the customs duty.

I am having my beer too now, cheers mate!
