  • Iā€™m interested but just wonder if anyone has experience of using this style of thing compared to just closing the lid on a hooded BBQ

    • My thoughts too.

All about the stone base, and not losing all your heat opening the hood between pizzas. Making a few pizzas all at once, using A rack on your plate, followed by an oven tray for pizza would be just as good. $49 at Bunnings almost worth it .

        • Why not just use your oven with a pizza stone?

    @After Dark
Haven't used one of these but my guess would be that if you have a hooded bbq, you don't need this, it's more for bbqs without a hood.

    • I wasn't sure I could fit one these larger boxy styles in the Weber Q 2200 so I've just using a cheap round pizza stone in a Weber Q2200. Works well. I could see an argument that these might be a bit better if they radiated heat down from above. On an open BBQ the drier air might also help.

  • We have the similar bakerstone pizza over and it works very well. We use it at ;east once a week and have done so for at ;east a year and it produces excellent pizzas. I assume this one would be pretty similar. The Bakerstone is around the same price now, down from $130 ish.

Better than closing the hood. It has a stone base which heats up as well. This and its small size gets it really hot inside of it, and holds it heat. Cooks a pizza in about 3 minutes with a crispy base.

  • Can you use on a flat plate bbq

  • +1

This one only has a stone base and half sides the Bakerstone from Bunnings (as posted by davodinkum ) has stone top, bottom and sides. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/349670

    • And I bought a Bakerstone yesterday from Bunnings that scanned at $49!
      Bargain, RRP is $149

      • Same. Bought from Bunnings yesterday. Ticket said $69 down from $99 bit scanned at $49

        Why didn't you post it

  • How often do you eat homemade pizza that it matters how long your pizza takes to cook.
    4-5 or 15-20 who caresssssssssssssssssssssssss

    • It will come out a shitload better than just being put in the oven though.

      • Meh… I cooked pizza on my weber Q (not directly on the grill) … It was good but not yeh not $60 good. Anyway where you gonna store this thing when not in use ?? If you have a Q you cant store it in the bbq coz of the side tables

This deal isn't for you then

        • @Hinee:
          Exactly

A true ozbargainer will buy now, think later

  • Is this bigger or smaller than the $49 one at Bunnings?
