Honda CR-V 2017 VTI

Need a new car as our car got into an accident and is a write off. We are looking at Honda CR-V VTI as our family car.

I’ve always driven a Toyota and husband has a Mitsubishi. Thought to try Honda this time round.
When buying a new car, what are some questions I should ask?
Is there pro/con I should know about Honda?
They made it hard for us to walk away to have lunch without putting a deposit.
He’s offering it for $33,490 Auto with sports grille, sides steps, mats and boot tray.

Do you think this price and extras are worth that price tag?
It includes 5 year warranty and 5 capped servicing.

Thank you.

  • So jumping on Carsales and putting in Vic, 2017 and the model your after it looks like a fairly decent offer.

    Take a look

  • Looks okay based on Carsales ads assuming it is the drive away price.

    • Yes it’s drive away price. Now wondering if I can squeeze in extras or get the price dropped

  • I would suggest you research various online reviews, those aren't the best options for that class.

  • Stop and check what the frequency and cost of servicing is for each of your options. I found Honda servicing quite expensive and was “required” every 6 months. Check if they have capped servicing pricing and see how much you’ll pay over the first five years.

  • i bought a 2017 demo in adelaide for $29,000 with 500ks 3months rego.

    • Did you have any accessories on the car? Was it drive away at that price?

      • Driveaway with mats & 3 months ergo
With the Honda’s most / if not all the dealers are being incredibly stingy on discounts as they are moving like hot cakes

A true ozbargainer would never buy a car new. Drops 40% in value as soon as you drive it off the lot.

    • As much as I am a miser, I can't do second hand.

      • Oh well, at least the insurance is paying for it so all good :)

    • Please show us these bargain cars 40% off that have just left the lot.

    • 40%? Damn that's some serious stamp duty!

      Or… And here's a thought… You're talking out your ass again 😂

Pity they don't offer 7 year warranty on new CRV's:

    https://www.honda.com.au/about/honda-annual-event-offer-term…

'Warranty Offer not available on new CR-V, Civic Type-R or NSX models'

  • Honda is quite reliable in my opinion.
If you had a test drive and is satisfied with the car you could put down the deposit as well.
