I purchased this phone https://m.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_637661.html?wid=4 (Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X 4G Phablet International Version)and recently cracked it. I want to repair it myself considering that the only place I found that does repairs for Xiaomi phone quoted me 150$ just for the screen….. I bought the damn phone for 140$ and doing my research all the lcd's I found seemed so shifty and nun of them had any reviews. If someone with some Xiaomi knowledge comment links to a trusted source that would be awesome.

Not much help now, but I have noticed China droid spares only become cheap after a while. My guess is when production ramps down due to upcoming model upgrade, the screen makers, battery makers etc. off load left over parts and they start appearing on eBay/aliexpress.
So you're saying there is no replacement screen for this model.
I'm saying parts get cheaper over time, and are sometimes expensive for newer phones.
I just did a Google search (I recommend it as an excellent search engine) and it looks like screens for your phone are around $25 to $30.

I bought on AliExpress for my Mi4i. Performance is good. I paid $21.00 with delivery.
Make sure you have heat gun and double sided 1 mm or 2 mm tape
Sadly thats the case with some of these phones at these price points. Throw away items as cost of repair is more than the phone.
