ADSL plan

I'm moving into a new apartment and will need internet, but NBN isn't available in the area yet so it'll have to be ADSL.

Most of the plans I'm looking at seem to require an active phone line, but I don't really need a home phone/don't have an active phone number, so what should I do?

  • Thats correct, most require a active phone line.

There are products like iinet naked, which don't require an active phone like. So search for naked adsl plans and away you go.

    • +1

Don’t be so quick to get rid of a dial tone. It’s helpful to diagnose faults and yet naked isn’t cheaper than other bundled deals last I looked.

      • Don't tell me, tell the OP. The OP asked about ADSL plans that don't need a phone line, and that was the answer.

iinet naked is $70 unlimited for naked…. What do you pay?

  • You can get naked adsl.

  • You MAY be able to get naked ADSL.

If your building is served by a node (RIM/ISAM/SEM) you will have to have a phone line rental and a Reach/off net plan.
Same if the provider you want to go with does not have equipment at that exchange, or free ports.
