Ray Ban Lens Replacement

Hi all,

My daughter has broken one of the lens of her RayBan Aviator sunglasses. Fortunately it’s only one and the one not with RayBan P on it…..unfortunately they’re polarised.

I’ve been to a local sunglasses outlet and they said that it will be at least half the price of the glasses and I think they cost me $320, so that’s really $160 for one lens; ok, they said that they would replace both.

Is there any cheaper method to replace the broken lens or must I just shut up and pay up?

  • $275 for classic aviators
    $295 for flash lenses.

I would maybe contact rayban themselves to see if they offer a better price for one lense because half the price is quite a bit

    • I’ve been in touch and they said that they don’t have a replacement or repair policy in Australia. Any repairs must go through resellers and sent overseas for repair.

    • They look like a decent outfit. I’ll chase them up. Thanks

I must say you're making my kids $10 polarised glasses from the markets look like good value!
I suppose it will be a good lesson to her to look after expensive things when she has to pay the repair bill.

    • Trust me, these are the one and only pair that she will be having. I’ve just bought myself a pair of RayBans too and if I’d realised that lens replacement was so costly/difficult, I wouldn’t have bothered.

Sunglasses really are a rip off.

They're not original lenses but I'm quite happy with a set that I got from here https://www.revantoptics.com/replacement-lenses which did fit perfectly.

I think they also have ebay listings.
