In the market for a new Hp G8 Microserver as my has died but i see there has been no deals on these in over 12 months? Any ideas why? Or even the G10(though ive heard little about these).

Yep, gen10 are a POS…..
I've not even seen the g9 listed anywhere. Good to know the g10 should be avoided.
That's because there is no G9.
i think the whole N36L N40L whatever was a fiasco. They just made too many and they never meant to drag the Proliant name out thru the bargain bins.
Their speciality is the high priced server market not the $199 shopping squares…
The Microservers were never really meant for the enterprise market though were they? Weren't they more for the home small office market?
If I'm not mistaken Gen 8 came out 5 years ago and would be discontinued now that Gen9 is out. Even more so when servers are made by HPe now.
Gen10 are a disappointment in my opinion. You pay more for less, like no more iLO, no more built in RAID card, soldered CPU and no door for the SATA bays.
