Do OzB Referrals (under Member Profile) Work?

I"m very curious whether companies really honour our referrals. Because I have a whole bunch of referrals and I can see a lot of clicks. However, I receive very little rewards.

Example - I did get some credit from CarNextdoor, but other sites like booking.com, catch.com.au all don't seem to honor the referral

In Amaysim for example there are 25 clicks (over many years), but not even 1 person has joined out of those 25? Seems odd to me

Thoughts?

People click but don't actually sign up. It does happen

Catch has a maximum of 10 sign ups, but they have to spend $10+ (from memory) before you get referral credit. Some people will sign up from your link, but not buy.

  • I have had referral credit from here on COTD, Deliveroo & Ubereats so it definitely works.

  • can we clear the links out and start again? some links might be old or reached maximum referrals.

Lots of people click but don't meet the requirements etc

I've made about $30 from CR referrals. Besides that ING (before banned) and iHerb.

My biggest windfall was the Macquarie Bank referal offer, I made over $500 from OzB referrals. My most recent one was $50 referral credit from iHerb.

There are a few like Amaysim and Catch however that get plenty of clicks but never convert.

I've only ever gotten 1 free coffee from HeyYou.

PS. How do you check the number of clicks?

On your referral setting page. Under each referral you have entered in, you will see number of clicks and the last time clicked.

  • Yep, they work.
I once got 3 referrals from CoTD in one month when they were having promos. I didn't even realise it. I think I got $30 or so. I also scored credit with Amaysim once.
I once also added my referral to some Optus Wiki page on Ozbargain, and somehow managed to score $150 credit. That wasn't using the "referral system" though.
