Updating of Sales That Are Changing Daily

(originally from the "Orange Box" post that was deleted for being a dupe of the Steam Give and Get Sale)

"I'm just wondering whether updating one post day by day is the best way to list this kind of deal that changes daily?

There are new deals each day, and updating that one post means that it doesn't show up in the "most recent" deals. The only reason I am reminded of it is because it happens to show up in the "top deals" list, which I don't usually consult since I assume I have already seen it in the "most recent" deals.

Sites like cotd and shoppingsquare have different items on sale each day. If someone finds that they are indeed bargains, they get posted as individual deals. We don't have one single post that is continually updated for every bargain that particular shop releases.

Similarly, there are different items on sale each day in the case of the Steam Give & Get Sale; should these items get their own post so that they show up at the top of the "new deals"? What do other people think about this?

EDIT: I'm not saying that every game should have their own post; if the games are on sale at the same time, then they should be listed together"

And I know that there also are deals that are updated hourly during the same day, but that requires maybe clicking through two pages. That, to be, seems reasonable. Hypothetically, if the bargains to be had on the first day of the Steam sale weren't great, and did not get voted up, the post would have been lost amongst the stream of new deals.

The Steam Give and Get Sale are different items each day? I've stickied it at the top of the frontpage until the 30th. I guess that could be the inbetween in what you mentioned.

Cheers, that sounds like a good compromise.

Don't wish to come across as being demanding, but would it be practical to sticky it on the "New Deals" page? I can't speak for the behaviour of other members when they surf the site, but I always go straight to "New Deals" via the url, skipping the homepage. =)

I can't sticky it to the new deals page.

But it doesn't really make sense as it's not a new deal? The frontpage is there to highlight the deals.

        Feedback is always good ;)

Yeah, that's true. Ah well, I guess I just have to exercise my memory a bit more which isn't exactly a bad thing lol
