I'm quite pleased with the sony player…….I got the same deal a few months back.
Can be networked wireless or wired (you need a sony dongle for wireless) and can stream youtube, iview, etc. Can also read stuff from usb

      • Thanks for the review opted for the sanity deal, grabbed Fight Club, 28 Days Later/28 Weeks, Man on Fire and 2012.

    • this one looks better (if I was buying one id get this), but you are paying more too.

  • for a price point of $150 or less (ie a gift bundle), this is pretty hard to beat.

but before purchasing have a read of this review from CNet.
    http://www.cnet.com.au/panasonic-dmp-bd45-339302679.htm

It's good for what it is, a decent quality BD player with no frills inclusions. It's image quality is good, but like most cheaper BD players it takes 'forever' to start playing movies.

  • So the cnet review is not too clear about a few things.

Does anyone know if you can play back avi, divx and h264 files with this via the USB?

Also what is profile 2 which this player is lacking?
