Squash in Sydney - Any OzB Players?

Besides bargains, I love me some squash. Unfortunately, unlike tennis - where there's plenty of free council courts around - it's not such a bargain friendly sport when it comes to court hire.

That said, does anybody know the best place to go for some thrifty ball smacking in the Sydney area?

Obvious BDSM jokes aside, I'm keen to get back into it after a year off and the discovery of a burgeoning belly. I'm about a 6-7.5 out of 10 on a skill scale, or 8 after a little practice on a real good day, and besides a good deal on court hire, I could use some new people to play too.

Reply here or feel free to PM me.

I'm in Ashfield.

  • Where are you located? unfortunately dont know of any free courts. But plenty of paid. It can be a bargain if you find another partner or 3. Then you can play first to 10 winner stays in and points on all plays not just serves. Games then turnover quick.

    • Hey, I'm in Ashfield.

I'll put that in the OP. Yes, the round robin method works well as long as the venue charges by the court and not per person.

I'd drop 7-10 bucks on an hour of squash,ie 14-20 total between 2 ppl.

Check this out, this will help you get back into it!! From $29/month for max 1 hr/day squash court hire (1 court = 2ppl)

Also, anyone close to the Thornleigh Squash centre, could have a hit together, been sitting on a voucher waiting for my mates to come back from holidays

    • Some of those deals look amazing, if only I were closer to Lane Cove or Thornleigh. Will keep an eye on the Groupon stuff for anything nearer my neck of the woods.
