Home and contents insurance *NSW * Please help find me the best value

Its getting really difficult sifting through all these online quotes,
with different terms & conditions with each insurer.

Tips from members who is viewed as a trusted insurer & value are paramount.
Currently with Suncorp & renewal is due soon.

As no no claim bonus is offered, but instead another rise in fees,
I really have to think of moving to another insurer that is more price competitive for the over 55 and no longer working. ( APIA is too expensive )

Am getting exhausted spending hours getting online quotes,
the terms & conditions of some of these insurers are confusing.

Whoever makes the best value list at http://www.canstar.com.au/home-and-contents-insurance/
doesnt guarantee a fair deal either.

Anyone can help please ?

Thank you

  • not sure, but maybe you could try coles. We changed our car insurance to them and saved heaps.

  • I've just been through this all for the first time, and was incredibly confused. I ended up going with Aussie - they were certainly good value (but I was looking at home only, no contents). Their PDS seemed to list all the same things as everyone else, would be interested in hearing if anyone else has any opinions about them or anyone else (one of their big selling points to me was you can pay monthly for no extra, so I can change who I use at the drop of a hat).

  • coles uses wesfarmers…and you get triple flubuy points…if that makes any diff…

i only like coles car insurance, coz i get triple fuel discount every month best ever

  • Has anyone any more information please ?

    Thanks

    • Yea Choice did a report recently. I found from that westpac offered me the best deal for my circumstances and they were high up on the NSW list. In my case I saved $300 on this years insurance and it was $200 less than last years with Catholic insurances which is now not available.

And it offered 12 monthly payments for no extra charge. Never opted for this in my life as it often mean higher premiums in this case they were cheapest and I got to pay monthly.

  • my thanks to ozpete, I`ll look into that option

  • I am with Comminsure. They are well priced and always rank very well in those Choice and Cannex reviews.

(disclaimer - I work for a different insurance company and this is in no way financial advice)
