Hey guys. You'll find this listed on Pana's website for RRP $999. However, best advertised price for this, is online order (OR STORE PICKUP) from Clive Peeters for $799, which isn't too shabby. The actual retail price tag in JB and Harvey Norman stores (in VIC anyway) reflect the same $999 price; I laughed at the guy in JB when he said the best he could do was $890 considering when a mate of mine recently purchased this at a HN store in Auckland for NZ$780, I am still waiting for the receipt showing its "NEW" to prove that and hoping I can get it somewhere between the $700-750 mark. BP: Clive Peeters $785 in store.

    Excellent price. I paid $1099 and the start of this year for the older model. You can get blank 50GB blu=ray discs now for around $6. That's not too bad when you consider a 50GB blu-ray disc is equivalent to 10 strandard 4.7GB DVDs. And the recording quality of this device on blu-ray's is exceptional. A great machine if you ask me, though it takes a fair amount of playing around to master all its features and benefits.

      meh seems expensive… I've rather grab an aldi PVR and a separate blueray player. ah under half the cost of this one item…

      that said not negging it, just saying thats my preference, if i had a heap of money, well for one i wouldn't be here looking for bargains (or maybe i still would!) then something like this would be more appropriate.

  It's definitely the cheapest around. But i'd expect the prices for these to tumble in the next 12 months.

    Yeha with 3D you're right, Pana don't have BR writers in the works with 3D playback capability yet. However, PS3s on the 3.5 update can play any backup BD-R 3D movie, so I've got my fix :)

  definitely cheap compared to normal prices- that is if you were looking for this particular item. i was looking at the 500Gb model (same features bigger hard drive), but for the money it's better to get separate devices imo.

  Update: $790 at this stage the best quote from Good Guys Preston VIC, cost price I'm told is $784. I think thats decent, given just 3 years ago I purchased a DVD recorder (single layer recorder) for like $450, just a little over $300 and you get a rreally decent model.

  $785 Clive Peters going within $1 to cost price. They buy about the same QTY as Clive Peters as they both are on the same margin. JB must buy less, as their best price was horrible. Hope that helps anyone out there….

  id prefer to buy a cheap TV to hook into the TV, does heaps more with internet surfing etc… albe it usaully not as easy to use with DVD burners so cheap should be able to get one even cheaper.
