Suggest 10" tablet for basic usage

Hi, looking for a 10" tablet for basic usage:
internet browsing
watching videos (may include netflix)
Spotify
bluetooth (for headphones)
Wifi

No games. Basically just a portable screen to bring about the house that's bigger than a phone. Partner wants one mainly to use in the kitchen (lol!) to bring up recipes in while she cooks.

There's just too much choice out there it's doing my head in.

Lenovo Tab 4 10.1 (Basic version) $255.55 with P5OZZIe code

Cheap, gets the job done, but the main downside is the 1280 x 800 display which can result in fuzzy text.

There's an even crappier version of the 10" tab for $148 which has Snapdragon 210 and 1GB of RAM. It'll lag and generally infuriate you, but would be fine just for reading recipes.

My current Tab is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2016, which is a full HD midrange tablet. You can grab one for $292.6 from DWI - Imported from Hong Kong or you can get one locally from Good Guys, Bing Lee for $331. Lowest historical price was $239 with 20% off code.

    • Sounds good. Will get the crappy 10" tab I think. For this basic task the cheapest thing will do.

    • Hi scrimshaw, I am interested in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2016. Do you recall when the $239 price happened.Just debating whether to wait for another Good Guys eBay 20% deal or get this refurb for similar price with current PCTECH 20% deal?

Not sure how available it is in Australia, but sounds like the Fire HD 10 would be the best deal. We like ours. Kids have the lower end version, other than screwing up the charging port (not the tablet's fault, they'll go through several high quality cables before the port itself starts messing up) they've been fine.
