Anyone used Bron Rewards?

Got a request from a friend to sign up to Bron Rewards (https://www.bronrewards.com.au/). Had a look at it, it seems to operate similar to cash rewards but you upload recent receipts and get a % of the purchase back in points. Points then translate to $.

I'm skeptical about it though because nowhere on the site does it say how they make any money - I can only assume it is through selling the data somehow. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the site? There is very little discussion about it online which is another red flag.

    Bron Tech is behind Bron Rewards, owner lives in Bronte so I guess the name is a play on words?

    Do a whois lookup on bron.tech, Google their address and there is a rental listing for the house from Jan 2016.

    Both people I could find are Macedonians, seeming living in Sydney.

    How the hell do they make money from my receipts? Are they just paying for our data? In that case, we truly are the product here.

      they probably sell the data back to the retailers, earn commissions/affiliate dollars or maybe they do both. it's the same with facebook and other social platforms where we are the product.

    you give them your receipts, their mates steal the same items, then they return them with your receipts for a refund

    With homescan it was a huge effort to scan all the receipts AND the products with little reward. This app looks like less work. But again, it's probably not worth using it unless you earn about $120+ a year. Did you start using it? I am keen to hear how many points and how quickly you earn them.
