Otek Waterproof Camcorder 1080P for 187$ Incl. Delivery to Sydney

30

I think this is a good one (Despite having no Zoom) to use as a secondary Full HD Camcorder (in Water, snow, rain)

I looked around the web for something similar. Only found a Sanyo that doest seem to be too watertight.
The critics (If you can trust them) seem to be good.

They also sell a JR Golf Set (Which I bought in Combination) for my son (Christmas is coming, and Dad is getting fat)

Then I added a 16GB Memory card

And added one other silly Item to get the Cashback from PayPal (Hope it works)

So I am all set for Christmas.

  • this looks nice, how much is it worth normally?

Been considering getting a new iphone though which has HD recording so not sure whether to get it or not..

    • Audio recording is whisper quiet …shhhh zoom only works at 720p and bigger battery is required to get good days/nites usage

      • Who need Audio under water ? :-) Unless you want to record Whales. Zoom is only digital, so not a real Zoom.
As I said, to use as a second camera under harsh condition. I am not taking my Canon HF100 into the snow, on a jet ski or fishing boat or skiing.

  • +1

For the record, my Sanyo CA9 waterproof camera is solid. I went down the rapids in Bali with it around my wrist, knocking against the paddle constantly and also getting dumped into shallow rocky water at one point (the rope I was holding broke after a big bump)… along with plenty of standard in-pool filming.

    No problems.

    • In had the Sanyo VPC-WH1 in mind. CA-9 is more expensive and not in Full HD.
Good to know that the CA9 is good, in case this proves to be a lemon

  • Depending on what people are doing, they should be aware:
    - no optical zoom
    - given a waterproof depth of 3 m (okay if u are just dunking it under the water's surface to look at some fish around your feet or maybe filming swimming in the pool)

Apart from that … specs sound good for a less expensive water camera :)
